Nancy Rutherford, MSN
Nancy has worked the majority of her 37 years providing mental health services. Settings have ranged from inpatient to partial programs to outpatient. She has worked with various populations, from mood, anxiety to extensive PTSD in women and veterans. She was in California for 22 years and 15 in PA. Graduate programs include UCLA and University of Pennsylvania.Since obtaining her MSN as a Nurse Practitioner, (Adult and Gerontology), she provided 4 years of psychopharmacology at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Mood Disorders Research. She also has a specialty as a clinical nurse specialist in Mental Health.
She currently also provides education and consultation to nurses, patients and families at Pennsylvania Hospital psychiatric Mood Disorders Unit. Recent study has drawn her to diverse interests, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy and Gestalt approach to therapy and life.
She continues a strong belief in the strength of rapport, relationships and the value of working together. She appreciates the internal strength individuals possess to pursue a better life.
She has two sons aged 30 and 27.
